Drumming is an important part of a Japanese worship ceremony. There are various styles and sizes of drums, and they are extremely pricy. (visit the Japanese Drums page).

I have seen the performance of the famous Kodo Drummers from Japan. They are extremely disciplined, very well controlled and vigorous. If they ever tour your city, don't miss it.
