Bubble April 1990 - September 2004

Bubble was a mix of German Sheperd and Collie. Beautiful, intelligent, sweet, gentle, playful. He was my only family, he made the house a home. Before I had him, I felt the need to go to friends' home to spend the holiday. I didn't have that need anymore after we were together. He brought peace and love into my heart. It's now more than a year after his passing, tears still flows when I talk about him. We had wonderful 14 plus years together and he had taught me so much about love and relationship.

Bubble King Doesn't he look magnificant!

I adopted him from the Humane Society when he was 4 month old. I went there with a black lab in mind, I even picked out the name Charcoal for him. There was a black lab in the pound. However, he was too jumpy I didn't think I could handle it. Bubble was happy to be out of the cage too, but he was managable. When he was put back to the cage, he kept on trying to reach out to me with his left hand. It got caught on the bars and he let out a yap. I felt guilty about it and decided to adopt him.

BubbleWhat a smile!

When he was first let out of the cage, the person told me his name. I didn't remember what it was, just remember it started with a B. When we were doing the paper, I asked "What's his name, Bubble?" and it stuck.

He got very excited when I had party because he loved people. But, here he was, suffering from after-party-blues.

This is a more recent photo, 10/2000, on his usual perch. Doesn't the bandana looks good on him?

I couldn't tell this story until he's gone...One day the ADT alarm when off when I was out. When I came home there was a slip on the kitchen counter from the police. It reads "...no sign of break-in...friendly dog inside" Obviously, I could count on him to lick a burglar to death.
